Time to change how law is formed

Earth Law – what an odd concept. We know the city Fathers have been making law for over 6,000 years. We humans make law. How could the earth make a law? How could the earth tell us how to live? Man's laws have told us who to enslave, who to favor, how we can treat workers and our neighbors. Why man's laws even tell us how much poison we can coat the communities in which we live. As long as there is not an immediate die-off of humans, the law stands. And the longer it takes for humans to die because of the poisoning process, the law says it is harder to prove that the poison is the cause. So many other causes possible, like the poison in your food and and water. Not to mention the drugs, alcohol, and cigarettes we humans ingest to cope with the law that says you are not as valuable as the reason we make the law. We even passed laws to give companies money that moved to China so they could avoid the laws crafted by this nation over 100 years. We even signed a treaty that said human rights and environmental protections interfere with profit so they are against the law of the treaty, thank you Bill Clinton, NAFTA chapter 11. Now we have to pay companies future projected profits if we stop them from using toxins in their profit-making endeavors. NAFTA includes an array of new corporate investment rights and protections that supersede human rights. Oh, “The law is a wonderful thing” investors proclaim. And politicians claim we are a nation run by the rule of law and that is what makes us great.

Why would anyone question this way of being in the world? After all the law is the law, pepper spay and all that goes with it. You have a place in a script to follow. And you get all kinds of entrancing images and plastic things to occupy your mind. After all we are the small people, “And we care about the small people. I hear comments sometimes that large oil companies are greedy companies or don’t care. But that is not the case in BP. We care about the small people.” It is time we gave up the role of small people. “We the People” is not a symbol of small people. We the people created a frame work for organizing society that was heard around the world and transnational corporations were smaller than We The People. It is that time again.

A song we sing at our church has the line in it, “We'll be a land building up ancient cities, Raising up devastations from old; Restoring ruins of generations. Oh we'll build a land of people so bold.” In this land the only small people are children.

Come join us and learn how to build law from Earth up.

Watch Micheal Jackson’s Earth Song. It is a collection of images to show us what is legal today. http://www.last.fm/music/Michael+Jackson/_/Earth+Song
