Joe Pishgar Announces Candidacy for FL State House of Representatives, Dist. 31
Joe Pishgar, an Online Community Relations Manager in the video games industry and resident of West Melbourne, has announced he is a Democratic Party candidate for Florida House District 31. District 31 consists of Melbourne, parts of Palm Bay, Malabar, Indialantic, Melbourne Beach, Indian Harbour Beach, West Melbourne and parts of Satellite Beach.
From Joe Pishgar's news release:
When asked why he wished to run, Mr. Pishgar stated, "In 2008, District 31 didn?t have a choice. There was one name, one party on the ballot. For our area, the only option was to go with more of the same. Well, in 2010, the people of this district are going to have a choice for quality, competent representation. I?m a guy that will get things done, and I?m going to put action to words on making it happen."
Mr. Pishgar went on to say, "My issues are incredibly simple. ?ll work to fix the woeful state of our education system, which has seen more deep cuts recently than ever before. I will fight to reduce the tax burden on Florida citizens; no more stealth tax hikes or absurd billion-dollar doubling of fees. I will fight tooth and nail for more jobs, better jobs here on the Space Coast independent of the uncertainties of the shuttle program. Floridians deserve better than what they?ve been getting lately from career politicians, both locally and up in Tallahassee. It?s high time we the people put someone forward that will protect and champion our interests."
