REPUBLICANS + TEA PARTY SPLIT ON OCCUPY WALL STREET
…two distinct modes of reaction have emerged on the right: hostility and grudging conciliation. Hostility: the Tea Party and much of the right-wing punditocracy. Grudging conciliation: establishment Republican politicians who no doubt have one eye glued on poll results (see below) that show a plurality of Americans broadly agree with the Occupy movement. WHAT'S POSEY THINK ABOUT IT?

Since some incumbent Republicans are now offering grudging acknowledgement of the validity of Occupy Wall Street movement, which means they might even be aware of the injustices and inequality fueling the movement of the 99% --  we wondered what Posey thought.

A friend called Posey's Washington office at (202) 225-3671 and inquired:

Caller: Does Posey support Occupy Wall Street movement?

Posey clerk: "He hasn't really come out with any official statement on that… (pause)… he would not support that."

Well, we're not surprised. After all, Mr. Posey doesn't even support the Clean Water Act, either! He and Adams (North Brevard) voted in July 2011 to gut the Clean Water Act. Republicans even voted against an amendment to ensure protection of municipal drinking water source. Info on SCPA Environment page here and St. Johns Riverkeeper, here.

(Thanks to B.)
