Protect Roe v. Wade

Today is the 38th anniversary of the Supreme Court's landmark Roe v. Wade decision recognizing a woman's constitutional right to legal abortion. On January 22, 1973, the Supreme Court voted by a margin of 7-2 that a woman had a constitutional right to an abortion. Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun wrote in the main opinion for the court that the right to privacy was "broad enough to encompass a woman's decision whether or not to terminate her pregnancy."

Tell President Obama: NO Abortion-Coverage Ban in High-Risk Pools

The Obama administration just announced it will exclude abortion coverage in the temporary health-insurance pools that will transition us into the new health-care system.

This policy means that women who are part of these pools because they have significant health problems, such as diabetes or cancer, will not be able to access abortion care, even if their health is at further risk
