Black Box Blackout is proud to present Katori Hall’s celebrated The Mountaintop, starring Mark Anthony Kelly and Kristen Warren. Directed by Pam Harbaugh. The 90-minute play examines Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s legacy as a leader of the nonviolent social and political civil rights movement while asking viewers to understand the positive and negative impact they can make on the world around them. After each performance, the audience can participate in a discussion of the play with the cast and director.

THRILLED to announce that Black Box Blackout will be presenting THE MOUNTAINTOP on Feb 24, 25, & 26. I am honored to be cast in this two person, one act play along side the phenomenal Mark Anthony Kelly who will take on the daunting role of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
… I will tell you, though, this is not the conventional portrayal of Dr. King. And my character, Camae, is NOT your typical motel maid. That’s all I’ll say. 😉
I am DELIGHTED to be collaborating again with the brilliant director Pam Harbaugh . She has been a mentor of mine since I was 11 years old. Pam has directed countless productions including Lady Day which we did in 2017. We’re at it again!
