INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEANUP
MRC is excited to announce our annual participation in the International Coastal Cleanup Event, hosting six cleanup sites in Brevard.
You are invited to help cleanup the Indian River Lagoon by removing litter from shorelines with us Saturday, September 16, 2023 (8 a.m. – 12 p.m.).
Last year, MRC volunteers picked up and prevented over 8,000 pounds of trash and debris from entering our lagoon. Thank you!
The more volunteers we recruit, the more significant our impact will be for the benefit of the Indian River Lagoon.
Please RSVP for this event because the supplies for each cleanup site are allocated based on registrations.
For cleanup locations and to RSVP, please visit https://coastalcleanup2023.eventbrite.com/?aff=cc.
*Funds for the cause are raised through event shirt sales, sponsorships, and donations. To support this event, please contact Steve at SharkeyMRC@gmail.com or call 321.978.8862.
Thank you for being a part of one of the largest cleanups in the world. You, the volunteers, are the most important part of this event because it would not be possible without you.
Every year this cleanup engages communities to remove trash from shorelines, lakes, rivers, and beaches worldwide, identifying the sources of debris and changing behaviors.
No matter where you live—whether on the coast or thousands of miles away—all waterways lead to the ocean. If we take action and work together, we can improve our marine resources and make trash-free seas a reality.
