At this critical time in our nation’s history, we are alarmed at the damage that has been done to several of our governmental institutions including the DOJ, State, Interior, EPA, Education, Homeland Security, Labor and others. Even the United States Postal Service has been sabotaged. In most cases, directors who have been chosen for these agencies work against the founding purpose of the agencies they are running. Many career professionals have resigned or been terminated from all of these departments. Others have held on for this moment.

By Feb 4th, the date of our meeting, the Biden administration will be two weeks in place.  We are hopeful that new cabinet officials will be in full charge, assisted by a slim democratic majority in the Senate. Please join us to hear our panel of experts, including a current and former US House member, as we discuss these critical issues.

SPEAKERS:

Anna Eskamani – Born and raised in Orlando, Representative Anna V. Eskamani is the daughter of working-class immigrants, elected to serve District 47 in the Florida House. Authentic, vocal, and effective, she is a champion for LGBTQ equality, the environment, affordable housing, increased access to healthcare, and public education.

Alan Grayson – A summa cum laude Harvard graduate in economics and Juris Doctorate magna cum laude, Alan Grayson speaks from deep knowledge of government and vast experience. An outspoken leader, Grayson ran for the Senate in 2016 as the “Congressman with Guts”. He represents a more liberal, anti-establishment wing of Florida’s Democratic Party. Today Grayson continues to fight for social security, food stamps, Medicare, unemployment insurance and services for the disadvantaged.

Corry Westbrook – Corry has spent twenty years working with the US Congress and several administrations in Washington DC to protect our air, water and wildlife. She did this at the National Wildlife Federation and Oceana and currently works for the Endangered Species Coalition. Early in her career, Corry worked for the Environmental Protection Agency. She grew-up in Central Florida and ran for US Congress in Florida’s 8th district in 2016 with a strong progressive agenda.
