Florida Women Dealt Difficult Hand

With only a couple of weeks left of the 2013 Legislative Session, women in Florida are being dealt a difficult hand. It certainly seems that especially House members are moving forward on bills that negatively (or only) impact women at a swift rate.

Democratic women from all over Florida came to the state Capitol on Tuesday to let lawmakers know, they’re watching what’s happening this session. The women spoke in support of Florida’s ratifying a federal amendment outlawing gender discrimination.

Program will feature NASA senior executive Russell Romanella, Kennedy Space Center Director of Safety and Mission Assurance, who will describe the new role of Kennedy Space Center in leading the way for space commercialization and deep space exploration.

SB972 removes local control. We need to retain local control of our communities when ever possible. Please study this issue.

SB972 — 1000 Friends of Florida continues to OBJECT to this bill because it curtails local governments’ ability to deal with transportation impacts associated with new development.
